The installation (set-up) is free and there are no service charges. There is NO monthly maintenance fee. To determine the flat, per minute rates, refer to our rate calculator. Due to the increasing costs of terminating calls over mobile networks, some countries have separate rate listings for mobile phones.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Prior to December 2002, UWT customers were not charged for
any incomplete calls. A charged call is a call that appears on a UWT
invoice. UWT is now charging the customer for such incomplete calls IF the
length of the call attempt exceeds the system allowed grace period - which
is 90 seconds. When a callback is received, a call should be placed within
90 seconds of the reception of the callback. If the destination number is
not answered, then the customer should either press the star key at least 3
times (***) in rapid succession to disconnect the callback OR press the
pound key # at least three times in rapid succession (###) to get a new line
to dial again.
The vast majority of our customers make payment via credit card. We can, however, make provision for customers who wish to make pre-payment via Western Union or bankwire. For more detailed information on making pre-payment, just contact us by E-mail at koala@koalacalling.com.
United World Telecom accepts American Express, MasterCard, VISA, and JCB. We will contact your credit card provider to determine that you have available credit in the amount of the monthly credit limit that you designate for your call back numbers. We will also contact the issuer of your credit card to verify the address that you have listed on the application form.
NOTE: If United World Telecom is unable to verify your billing address as listed on the application, you will be required to fax or send us a photocopy of your credit card (front and back) so that we can verify that you are the rightful owner of that credit card. In this situation, you may also be asked to fax us a photocopy of your most recent credit card invoice that displays your billing address on the invoice. This step is required to prevent fraudulent usage by others.
Your credit card or bankcard will be debited at the end of each month for long distance charges accumulated during that month. For those who are frequent users of the service, your credit card or bank may be debited each time your bill reaches a usage amount of $200.00 USD. In this case, at the end of each month, you will be charged any remaining balance equal to the monthly invoice, which will be mailed to you.
Each month you will receive a fully detailed statement that itemizes your call detail ’ as well as the amounts debited from your credit card or bankcard. All customers receive this invoice via E-mail as well as U.S. mail. Customers whose invoice is less than US $20 in any given month will not receive a paper invoice by mail.
It is imperative that funds are available with your credit card provider so that United World Telecom can collect for payment due. If United World Telecom attempts to collect payment and is unsuccessful, your account will be disabled. You must also make sure to contact us when you are issued a new credit card expiration date.
